Ed's primary liver cancer was diagnosed April 2012, Hospice cancelled us twice. His tumor was 11cm and shrunk by September 2012 to 5cm. Ed has had excellent quality of life, hiking, living a full and active life, tumor marker is staying normal and all values, which were out of range are moving towards normal.

Bone Broth for weight gain

Like most cancer patients Ed has trouble keeping his weight up, I am going to try this next and like to know how you go about keeping up the weight. We normally do not eat animal products, but our acupuncture doctor recommended trying this.

From the beginning of time (well, at least since there’s been fire), man has been eating bone broth. Have you ever wondered why?

I recommend everyone make bone broth and incorporate it into your dietary routine. Here’s why.

Gut-Healing Chicken Broth Recipe

Ingredients:

1 organic whole chicken
8 c of water
4 -6 stalks of celery, finely chopped
½ white or yellow onion, finely chopped
3 cloves garlic, finely chopped
1 Tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
1 inch ginger root, finely chopped
½ teaspoon sea salt
½ teaspoon of apple cider vinegar

Directions:

Place all of the above ingredients in a crock-pot and cook on low heat for 8 -10 hours.

I like to cook mine until the meat is falling away from the bones.

Repeal Prohibition, Again

It took 13 years for the United States to come to its senses and end Prohibition, 13 years in which people kept drinking, otherwise law-abiding citizens became criminals and crime syndicates arose and flourished. It has been more than 40 years since Congress passed the current ban on marijuana, inflicting great harm on society just to prohibit a substance far less dangerous than alcohol.

The federal government should repeal the ban on marijuana.

We reached that conclusion after a great deal of discussion among the members of The Times’s Editorial Board, inspired by a rapidly growing movement among the states to reform marijuana laws.

There are no perfect answers to people’s legitimate concerns about marijuana use. But neither are there such answers about tobacco or alcohol, and we believe that on every level — health effects, the impact on society and law-and-order issues — the balance falls squarely on the side of national legalization. That will put decisions on whether to allow recreational or medicinal production and use where it belongs — at the state level.

I have read so many times that cancer can not live in an alkaline environment and all you have to do is to get your body less acidic to kill your cancer. Well after doing some research I came to the conclusion that it is a total myth. Below are two different researchers who will tell you about it and I must say it did make sense to me. In fact drinking alkaline water might hurt you .

Is it true that the foods and beverages you consume cause your blood to become more alkaline or acidic?

Contrary to popular hype, the answer is: not to any significant degree.

The pH of your blood is tightly regulated by a complex system of buffers that are continuously at work to maintain a range of 7.35 to 7.45, which is slightly more alkaline than pure water.

If the pH of your blood falls below 7.35, the result is a condition called acidosis, a state that leads to central nervous system depression. Severe acidosis – where blood pH falls below 7.00 – can lead to a coma and even death.

If the pH of your blood rises above 7.45, the result is alkalosis. Severe alkalosis can also lead to death, but through a different mechanism; alkalosis causes all of the nerves in your body to become hypersensitive and over-excitable, often resulting in muscle spasms, nervousness, and convulsions; it’s usually the convulsions that cause death in severe cases.

The bottom line is that if you’re breathing and going about your daily activities, your body is doing an adequate job of keeping your blood pH somewhere between 7.35 to 7.45, and the foods that you are eating are not causing any wild deviations of your blood pH.

Genetically Engineering Cannabis for the Pharmaceuticals

One way this is already happening is in a secret lab in the South of England, GW Pharmaceuticals, which extracts, refines and studies the plant in their six different greenhouses, where they raise 10,000 plants each. At this undisclosed location, GW uses genetic engineering to create modified varieties and then clones each strain. They are already marketing one of their genetically engineered cannabis products in Canada as a sublingual (under the tongue) spray for treating muscle spasms associated with multiple sclerosis.

If the cloned strains were to cross pollinate with naturally-occurring strains, we could easily see the organic cannabis plants compromised and ultimately eliminated. As the story of GMO corn demonstrates, with companies driven by profit and control, this threat to corner the market is not one we should take lightly. Read the whole article here
