Cannabis Oil for Acute Leukemia, Case Report

Highly Aggressive Acute Blastic Leukemia in 14 year old Girl

In March 2006, P.K., a 14-year-old girl suffering from weakness and spontaneous bleeding was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), with more than 300,000 blast cells present on her peripheral blood smear.   Her form of leukemia was highly aggressive with a positive Philadelphia Chromosome (see Image below).  P.K.’s leukemia was treated at the Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto, Canada with bone marrow transplant, aggressive chemotherapy and radiation therapy.

After 34 months, blast cells were again found in the blood and further treatment was deemed futile.  The doctors suspended all treatment and essentially gave up on her.  Her doctors noted in the chart: “the patient suffers from terminal malignant disease….She has been treated to the limits of available therapy… no further active intervention will be undertaken”. The patient, P.K., was offered palliative treatment and was sent home to die.  While at home, the leukemia blast cell counts continued to increase and frequent blood and platelet transfusions were required.

I have read so many times that cancer can not live in an alkaline environment and all you have to do is to get your body less acidic to kill your cancer. Well after doing some research I came to the conclusion that it is a total myth. Below are two different researchers who will tell you about it and I must say it did make sense to me. Is it true that the foods and beverages you consume cause your blood to become more alkaline or acidic?

Contrary to popular hype, the answer is: not to any significant degree.

The pH of your blood is tightly regulated by a complex system of buffers that are continuously at work to maintain a range of 7.35 to 7.45, which is slightly more alkaline than pure water.

If the pH of your blood falls below 7.35, the result is a condition called acidosis, a state that leads to central nervous system depression. Severe acidosis – where blood pH falls below 7.00 – can lead to a coma and even death.

If the pH of your blood rises above 7.45, the result is alkalosis. Severe alkalosis can also lead to death, but through a different mechanism; alkalosis causes all of the nerves in your body to become hypersensitive and over-excitable, often resulting in muscle spasms, nervousness, and convulsions; it’s usually the convulsions that cause death in severe cases.

The bottom line is that if you’re breathing and going about your daily activities, your body is doing an adequate job of keeping your blood pH somewhere between 7.35 to 7.45, and the foods that you are eating are not causing any wild deviations of your blood pH.

One of the most well known and prestigious doctors associated with cannabis medicine isDr. Donald Abrams.  He is Chief of the Hematology-Oncology Division at San Francisco General Hospital and a Professor of Clinical Medicine at the University of California San Francisco.  Such achievements bring unprecedented credibility to the concept of medicinal cannabis as a whole, which many people still refuse to acknowledge.  Moreover, Dr. Abrams is remarkably well spoken, down-to-earth, and at times humorous, making him especially effective as an educator and doctor.

Health Risk of Marihuana Use


Reviews that do show health risks of marijuana are typically based on
poorly designed research, e.g., using massive doses of THC, far more
than even those levels consumed by the heaviest marijuana smokers.
Every study showing health risks has been discredited or refuted;
cannot be replicated; or has been shown to be in error by a majority
of studies on a given topic.

Apart from potential dangers from non THC factors in marijuana smoke,
the best research shows clearly that there are no substantiated
health risks associated with marijuana use. Indeed, there may well
be health benefits (in addition to the proven benefits of medical
marijuana), as marijuana levels of THC seem to strengthen the immune

Laws prohibiting marijuana on the basis of health risks cannot be
justified by the research literature.
